For the Sleepy Girls

Overview

Born from a personal struggle with insomnia, Counting Sheep is a full product packaging line inspired by the Sleepy Girl Mocktail, a viral TikTok trend centered around a nightly drink ritual consisting of tart cherry juice, magnesium, and sparkling water. The brand was built around the reality that the importance of sleep is widely overlooked, especially in women's health, and that a product line making these remedies both accessible and enjoyable fills a gap in the market.

The packaging line includes both a mocktail kit with tart cherry juice and magnesium powder and three flavors of sparkling water offered in a three-pack sampler. The brand identity pulls from the classic bedtime technique of counting sheep, a tale that dates back to medieval shepherds. It's inviting aura is supported with rounded sans serif type, and a light blue and brown palette that deliberately deviates from the purple-heavy aesthetic common in existing sleep brands.

Every element was physically produced and assembled, from sourcing the actual bottles and cans to constructing the kraft paper drink carrier by hand. Production methods included large format printing, vinyl cut sticker labels, and die cutting, with close attention paid to how the design translated across a wide variety of packaging formats and materials.

Deliverables included a full product packaging line, brand identity, label design, and product photoshoot.
