Setting the Table
Overview
Table For is aimed at young adults who care about what they eat and where they eat it. It goes beyond recipes to explore restaurant culture, culinary traditions, and the ways in which society shapes the way we dine.
The project was an exercise in editorial storytelling from the ground up. Almost every element was original — the masthead, cover design, interior layouts, photography, and hand-drawn illustrations were all produced independently, blending digital and analog practices throughout. The visual language was built to serve the stories: desaturated photography with selective color pops, large-scale typographic titles, and custom illustrations that gave each spread its own personality while keeping the issue cohesive.
Deliverables included a full magazine proposal, masthead and identity design, cover design, and a complete interior layout featuring two curated articles sourced from Forbes and Vogue, covering a Filipino communal dining experience in New York and the culinary landscape of San Francisco.
